Leadership Coaching -
Tailor Made for You
Tailor Made for You
In an ever dynamic environment we are constantly required to evolve and change to meet new opportunities. The purpose of Executive Coaching is to create an environment that gets you really clear on what your personal and business vision is and what you need to do to evolve personally.
John Kotter, Professor of Leadership, Harvard Business School made a very powerful case for coaching when he said; "What's really driving the boom in coaching, is this: as we move from 30 miles an hour to 70 to 120 to 180......as we go from driving straight down the road to making
right turns and left turns to abandoning cars and getting motorcycles...the
whole game changes, and a lot of people are trying to keep up, learn how not to
fall." Coaching is designed to keep you in the driving seat.
Whether you are starting out in a new role, wanting to make a greater impact in the organization or look at your next move, executive coaching will take you to your next level of potential – whatever that looks like for you.
The British Journal of Administrative Management gives us the definition that, “Coaching takes a holistic view of the individual: work, corporate values, personal needs and career development are made to work in synergy, not against one another.”
Often we have conflicts within that get in the way of our happiness, performance
and well-being. Executive Coaching is designed to work with all these aspects
and create breakthroughs where needed.” Coaching addresses a range of benefits and development needs. At senior levels most executives are assumed to have what they need to perform and are not given the mentoring and development that they want in order to evolve.
As John Russell, MD of Harley-Davidson Europe Ltd says :
“I never cease to be amazed at the power of the coaching process to
draw out the skills or talent that was previously hidden within an individual,
and which invariably finds a way to solve a problem previously thought
unsolvable."
I often coach executives who are frustrated and thinking about
leaving their organisation. They reach out for a coach to explore different
alternatives, to leverage what they have achieved in their career to date or
explore different directions. Executive coaching is designed to create clarity
and strategies for the future while ensuring that current performance levels are
sustained and improved upon. Each client is unique, for some we are so successful at working through current frustrations that they continue or change roles in their existing organization
creating a win for the client and a win for the organization.
The US Careers Journal tells us that "More executives are beginning to request the service for themselves…as the growing perception that coaching can help an individual or group to build sustainable professional and personal skills, better learn, overcome challenges, reach
stretch goals and integrate leadership training."
The coach takes on a unique role in your life. There is no-one else
who can be your champion, advocate, detached observer, biggest challenger and
trusted confident. “….many companies….offer coaching as a prerequisite to proven managers, in the understanding that everyone can benefit from a detached observer.” ― Harvard Business Review.
We will look at which of your strengths we can build on to take you
forward to ensure that the best of you shows up at work every day. We will find
ways to help you connect with what you are most passionate about in work and
life and use that to fuel your performance. You will be challenged and supported
to create new learning and insights for yourself and to put those that are right
for you into practice.
